SUMMARY

The Driver will safely and efficiently deliver finished goods, products, and materials to customers in a timely and professional manner.  Additionally, the position requires loading and unloading finished good product in and out of delivery trailers. They will be required to stage material in preparation for loading, scan the appropriate product onto the correct truck and safely secure the product onto the trailer or delivery vehicle.  This position is within a fast-paced warehouse environment. They will work in a team-oriented environment under minimal supervision utilizing lean principles and collaboration amongst peers.  May perform a variety of other tasks relating to shipment of products.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Deliver CWS products via tandem tractor/trailer as scheduled. Clean and maintain tractor/trailer on an as-need/scheduled basis. Maintain E-logs (when required) or paper logs (when required) in accordance with DOT rules and regulations. Perform other tasks as assigned by the Private Fleet Manager. Always maintain a neat and clean appearance. Attend all required safety and performance meetings. Driver must abide by all DOT regulations and will be accountable for all CSA2010 incidents. Receive finished goods from production, stage material by truck route and load product on delivery trailers using various material handling methods such as, hand loading, using hand trucks, suction cups, etc.… Perform cursory inspection of packaging to make sure product is properly packaged.  Repair/modify packaging as required to assure no damage occurs during transit. Communicate any defective or damaged product to the area leadership. Stage finished good product(s) into defined areas in preparation for shipment to customers.  Must scan inventory barcode label of product to barcoded area. Use truck loading paperwork and IT system to load correct product on assigned delivery trailer.  Must scan inventory label onto truck. Safely secure all product on truck following documented Standard Operating Procedures and processes. Work within a team-driven environment, including following instructions and meeting deadlines. Must be self-motivated and a creative thinker to help problem solve and initiate improvements Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations. Maintain high standards of safety throughout operations. Maintain housekeeping standards. Must be detail orientated. Perform other job duties as assigned.

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Knowledge of operations/warehouse work instructions, safety, and housekeeping procedures Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to work overtime to accommodate outbound shipping schedules and workloads Be present at work during scheduled working hours and as needed in the job position Preferred-Driver must have a minimum Class A CDL drivers license and over the road driving experience with a tandem axle tractor and 53’ foot trailer. Driver will provide all information as prescribed by the DOT for driving history.  Have no more than three (3) recorded moving violations within a three-year period as a driver of commercial or private vehicle.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

 

Must be at least 21 years of age. A valid Class A CDL driver’s License. Knowledge and/or experience of driving in large metropolitan areas preferred. Must have a safe driving record. Must be familiar with all DOT regulations.

Exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate Confined to the cab of a truck for extended periods of time during the day or night. PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Sit; use hands to steer a tandem axle tractor, shift gears, depress a clutch, brake, or accelerator. Ability to feel, speak aloud and hear. Stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Lift and/or move over 100 pounds. Must be able to bend, lift, squat, twist, stand and move repetitively for 8-10 hours a day. Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms Specific vision albitites required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

 

TRAVEL

Must be able to travel frequently.

 

LOCATION

This position is based in Jacksonville, Florida.  Relocation assistance is not available for this position.  It will be the responsibility of the successful candidate to arrange accommodation to Jacksonville.
