Childrens Wellness and Safety Instructor

The BayCare Kids Wellness & Safety Instructor provides health and safety education programs to caregivers and children as part of the Children's Wellness & Safety program. Participates in community events, health fairs and other projects promoting Winter Haven Hospital and Bartow Regional Hospital. May be required to design and implement curriculums for caregivers and/or children ages 3 to grade 12. Travels within the service area of Polk County and Plant City area using own transportation. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors – Physical Education or Health Education or Bachelors in Related FieldExperience working with other professionals, childcare providers, caregivers, and children of all ages in a classroom/presentation setting.

The BayCare Kids Wellness & Safety educator provides Physical Activity and Nutrition programs to caregivers and children ages 3 to 12th grade within the Polk County school system, summer camp programs, churches, and other community locations. Self-study time for the following curriculums: Kids Power Nutrition and Physical Activity curriculum (Pre-K through Middle School) and optional Let’s Talk Puberty. Our team focuses on quality education. An official curriculum check-off process is completed before independently teaching. Numerous opportunities for Professional Growth via in person and online trainings such as Standards of Quality for Family Strengthening & Support Training, Safe Baby by Healthy Start, DiSC communication style assessment, The Art of Emotional Intelligence, The Power of Positivity, Youth First Aid Mental Health and much more.This position is PRN- paid for actual hours worked and requires a minimum of 30 hours/maximum of 40 on average per week.Travels within Polk County and Plant City using own transportation and travels with teaching supplies.Medical benefits are available after one year of service.1 weekend day per month is required.
