The OHSU Department of Surgery is comprised of nine integrated yet independent surgery divisions: Abdominal Organ Transplantation, Bariatric, Cardiothoracic, Gastrointestinal and General, Pediatric, Plastic and Reconstructive, Oncology, Trauma and Acute Care and Vascular Surgery. Our department is built on a culture of community and a history of innovative and interdisciplinary collaboration. Our faculty are dedicated to excellence in education, research, scholarship and clinical practice. We also house one of the largest general surgery residency programs in the country and offer surgery fellowships in all of our disciplines. OHSU as a teaching hospital is fully supported by each of our faculty and staff.

 

This position supports the Department of Surgery and its divisions. This person will identify potential subjects through chart review, discussion with investigators, or other mechanisms; assist the research team with visit schedules and orders; and complete subject study visits and required data collection. This person will provide regulatory support by preparing IRB submissions and ensuring studies remain up to date with the IRB. This person will help provide study coverage in divisions when needed which may include enrolling or collecting data in outpatient or inpatient setting. This person will have a solid understanding of the research regulations, reporting timelines, and quality data abstraction for research purposes.

Function/Duties of Position

Subject screening and recruitment – determines subject eligibility and obtains informed consent when required

Schedule and complete study appointments with subjects based on study protocol

Accurate and efficient data accrual and case report form completion

IRB submissions including modifications and continuing reviews

Other administrative duties as assigned

Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in relevant field AND 1 year of relevant experience 
ORAssociate's AND 3 years of relevant experience
