Job Description This is a remote position and located anywhere in the United States. Produce an itemized, line by line report (sworn statement – affidavit or unsworn statement – affirmation) which outlines the billing being reviewed and what is the correct calculation and/or fee schedule guidelines and rules for recommending an allowed amount. Ensure all medical procedure or service coding guidelines are followed as they apply to each state fee schedule. Tracks the outcomes in court and arbitration to keep up to date with any new trends and creating coding issues. Maintains contact with appropriate agencies for clarification of coding issues such as the Department of Health, Department of Financial Services, The New York Workers’ Compensation Board and the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance. Acts independently and manages own activities with minimal supervision and direction to meet customer needs. Maintain internal turn around time in responding to litigation support request. Understand the Litigation Support Services agreement in customer contracts. Assists Intellectual Property team in developing product solutions. Assists with special projects as needed. Qualifications Must have Certified Coding Certification through AAPC or AHIMA (CCS, CPC, CCSP) or be a RN or LVN Qualifications: High School or College Degree Professional, Medical Certifications a must American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) coding credentials Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification American Health Information Mgmt Association (AHIMA) Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification Ability to navigate multiple systems and screens simultaneously. Ability to analyze information. Ability to research information using web-based tools. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Effective time management skills. Effective critical and problem-solving skills Experience/Skills: 5+ years of recent experience working with CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), HCPCS and ICD-10 coding guidelines. 2+ years handling cases in arbitration/litigation Strong knowledge of medical terminology; Anatomy and Physiology Strong ability to navigate within a computer/systems-dependent environment without assistance; previous experience in a windows-based computer environment (including MS Windows apps, MS Office apps; Excel, Word, Outlook). Knowledge of using Salesforce software is preferred. The expected base pay for this position ranges from $71,681 - $96,000 annually, and will be based on a number of additional factors including skills, experience, and education.
