EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for Consumer Networks Engineer in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position is located at our Germantown, MD office.

Job Responsibilities:

Develop, test, implement, and identify new networking technologies and network infrastructure for consumer networks.Support the maintenance of satellite communications equipment and systems, configure, monitor, and maintain enterprise and consumer Network Management Systems, including routers, firewalls, switches, and virtual and physical servers.Provide on-call support for consumer customer networks. Maintain constant contact with customers and vendors to enhance the performance and design of networks.Generate status reports, perform network anomaly analyses, perform engineering changes and upgrades, identify security vulnerabilities and code to automate network changes

Basic Requirements

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or a closely related field plus 2 months’ experience in network engineering OR Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications or a closely related field plus 5 years’ experience in network engineering.Experience must include 2 months in each of the following: TCP/IP; NTP; Python; Packet switching, routing, internetworking, addressing; intrusion detection, security architecture, vulnerabilities prevention, and running web server, deploy services and code in Linux environment.

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
