Description
We are looking for a highly skilled Controller to oversee all financial operations and provide strategic insights to support our organization's growth and stability. Based in Santa Barbara, California, this role focuses on managing accounting functions, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and guiding the leadership team with actionable financial analysis. The Controller will play a key role in enhancing operational efficiency, supervising audits, and driving financial planning initiatives. Hospitality industry required.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
• Prepare and present accurate financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to support decision-making processes.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Monitor and advise on cost management practices for food, beverage, and merchandise sales.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and internal controls.
• Oversee cash flow management and financial planning to maintain organizational financial health.
• Conduct detailed financial analyses to identify opportunities for cost savings and improved operational performance.
• Lead annual audits and coordinate with external auditors to ensure transparency and accuracy.
• Provide training and mentorship to finance staff, fostering skill development and adherence to best practices.
Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in accounting operations, financial reporting, and budgeting.
• Strong knowledge of tax compliance, internal controls, and cash flow management.
• Proficiency in financial analysis and forecasting to support strategic initiatives.
• Expertise in hospitality management or similar industry is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in financial systems, including general ledger and accounting software.
