Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job DescriptionThe Position
The Coordinator, Content Acquisitions role will support the acquisitions team as it licenses content for Versant’s cable networks: USA, SYFY, E! and Oxygen. This candidate will be responsible for maintaining key reports and deal status trackers, inputting data into company-wide systems, updating content analyses as deals progress and pulling information for key stakeholders.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
Manage the acquired inventory and prepare ad hoc reports and presentationsEnter and update pertinent details and metadata into all systems utilized across the teamsUpdate, maintain and provide various reports that are required by department management and in weekly meetingsAssist team members on special projects including researching & capturing relevant industry intel and the competitive landscapeTrack upcoming theatricals and series to target for acquisition over the next several yearsOrganize and maintain team SharePoint folders with relevant deal documentsTrack all content pitched to the team (i.e. screeners, scripts) and input content into team’s internal content feedback toolScreen movies and series and provide feedback on potential fit for the portfolioQualificationsBasic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and at least 1+ years of experience in the field of Entertainment Media or related fieldExceptional proficiency in ExcelStrong PowerPoint SkillsExceptional attention to detail required for contract managementDemonstrates a passion for television and movie content from all genresAbility to work in fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and drive them to completionStrong interpersonal skills and a team playerPro-active thinker and self-starterExperience working in the industry with a foundation on how streaming and TV business works is a plusAdditional Requirements:
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
