Three years of successful pre-award administration experience with research proposal concept development, preparation processes, editing, and grant submissions or in a related field. Experience preferably in an institution of higher education like SHSU. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered. Nature & Purpose of Position Performs complex administrative and supervisory program work. Oversees initiatives in the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) focused on increasing funded collaborations between SHSU faculty and staff and external stakeholders. Primary Responsibilities Reviews material to comply with federal, state, and other regulations set by external sponsors. Participates in development and execution of proposals to external sponsors. Prepares budget requests. Conducts reviews on contracts and awards, as well as facilitates execution, set-up, and amendments. Consults with staff and supervisors on issues that arise and provide solutions. Works with AOR to develop departmental goals for each fiscal year. Oversees all data relating to grant submissions, awards, and expenditures. Analyzes and prepare reports for data purposes. Performs other related duties as assigned. Other Specifications Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws. Ability to supervise business functions. Communicates with other university departments, personnel, and other agencies.
