Corporate Trainer
As an organization focused on continuous learning, the incumbent will play an integral role in working collaboratively with the Professional Development Manager and senior leadership to ensure NCC is actively engaged in designing and administering a first-class professional training and development program for its workforce. The incumbent will support the development of an expansive curriculum that creates growth and development opportunities for every position within the organization. The incumbent reports to the Professional Development Manager who leads the organization in delivering training and development programs to staff members in accordance with best practices. The incumbent will play an integral role in organizing and managing the day-to-day professional development activities and certification processes for all NCC staff. Key responsibilities, in partnership with the Professional Development Manager, are developing strategic training goals and objectives in alignment with NCC’s mission as well as oversight of systems. Identifies and coordinates external training resources, including trends and innovations in adult education and professional development. Provides support in all areas of professional development: core competencies, professional development (internal and external), subject-specific instruction in subject matter related to intellectual disability, and mandatory retraining. Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Develop, implement, and revise as necessary core competency training programs reflective of NCC’s core values, and in alignment with industry best practices. · Facilitate and support mandatory certification training required by regulation and/or that reflect best practices, i.e. MANDT, CPR/First Aid, and Food Handlers. · Assist programs in completing mandatory training in compliance with regulatory agencies. · Develop and maintain a staff database to monitor staff compliance with mandatory training requirements. · Oversee the New Hire Orientation program, including all-inclusive of maintaining necessary training materials. · Develop and maintain structures for the delivery and documentation of training, including scheduling, recordkeeping, database development and oversight, and recruitment/training of trainers. · Design original training programs based upon internal trends, as well as industry and regulatory adjustments, and staff survey data. · Participate in the administrative roll-out of training and professional development, including developing communication plans in collaboration with the Communications and Marketing team. · Coordinate facilities set-up for training presentations and classes, including equipment. · Develop and deliver or contract for delivery of professional development classes for staff as needed and/or requested by NCC directors and managers. · Provide direct training on core competencies, certification training, etc. as needed. · Identify resources, plan and implement special projects to build capacity, and add value to NCC’s professional development program. · Monitor and execute marketing of training initiatives to drive registration and compliance with training requirements including calendar and electronic communications, corporate intranet website, newsletters, etc. · Monitor the emergence of new and innovative technology to provide robust opportunities for enhanced training experiences. · Prepare reports and presentations for management on usage, evaluation, and effectiveness of training initiatives. · Assist in the implementation of strategic goals related to quality of service and advocacy. · Flexibility w/ scheduling; can include some evenings and Saturday mornings · Other duties as assigned. COMPETENCIES Education and/or Experience 1. A Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of teaching, training, and/or administrative experience, OR 2. A Master’s degree in education or a related field and four (4) years of teaching, training, and/or administrative experience, OR 3. An equivalent combination of education and experience. 4. Certification or eligibility for certification in First Aid and CPR. 5. Must be able to report to various sites to conduct training. Experience in adult teaching and training. Other Qualifications Skilled in interpersonal relationships, excellent communication skills, and organizational awareness; Must work autonomously, with minimal supervision. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and staff. Interactions should be timely, responsive, and courteous. Incumbents must actively engage in problem-solving and seek resolutions to conflicts. Must have the ability to identify and prioritize issues and respond to complaints in an appropriate manner. Must show respect and sensitivity for each person’s individuality and preferences, and the cultural/ethnic diversity of the people served.
