Credit/ Collections Supervisor/Manager
Description We are looking for an experienced Credit/Collections Supervisor/Manager to join our team in Los Alamitos, California. This contract position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in financial services who can oversee collection activities, manage delinquent accounts, and ensure compliance with regulations. The role requires a proactive leader skilled in motivating teams and implementing efficient collection strategies. Responsibilities: • Supervise and guide collection department employees, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations. • Oversee daily collection activities, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet department goals. • Monitor and report on loan delinquency trends, providing insights to management for proactive decision-making. • Manage the repossession and sale of collateral, including evaluating additional investments when necessary. • Analyze financial situations of delinquent borrowers and direct team actions to recover collateral when payment arrangements fail. • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations in all collection activities, including adherence to the Bank Secrecy Act and the Patriot Act. • Develop and implement training programs to continuously enhance team skills and effectiveness. • Review collection policies and procedures regularly to maintain compliance and operational efficiency. • Prepare and deliver comprehensive department reports to keep management informed of collection activities and results. • Maintain high standards of member service by responding promptly and courteously to inquiries and concerns. Requirements • A minimum of 5 years of experience in credit or collections management, preferably in financial services. • Associate degree or completion of a specialized business or trade program; bachelor's degree preferred. • Proficiency in using accounting software systems, CRM tools, and Excel. • Demonstrated ability to motivate and influence teams, fostering a collaborative work environment. • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, maintaining professionalism in all interactions. • Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to collections, including the Bank Secrecy Act and the Patriot Act. • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills to address complex financial situations and drive results.
