**Schedule** Part Time, Day Shift (24 hours biweekly) Hours: Every other weekend; 2 x 12 hour shifts (Between 8:00am - 12:00pm) **General Summary** Performs routine and specialized CT radiologic procedures at an advanced skills level. Performs procedures to produce computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of designated anatomical areas according to established practices and procedures. **Essential Functions:** + Performs CT Scan Radiology studies; obtains patient history, explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns. + Under the direct supervision of the physician, administers intravenous contrast media. Recognizes complications (e.g., contrast reaction) and treats appropriately. + Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations. + Positions and transfers patients comfortably. + Immobilizes patients as necessary and practices radiation safety procedures. + Performs duties as on call technologist. Trains new staff. Has passed the CT specialty exam as per ARRT. + Performs the duties of Radiographer as needed. + Prepares and maintains written documentation as required by the profession and the department. **Common Expectations:** + Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of the assigned patient population. Provides direct patient care to assigned patient age group(s). + Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required. + Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards. + Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, inservice meetings, and workshops. + Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation. + Supervises, assists and evaluates students in the clinical education setting. + Requests and orders supplies as necessary to keep materials on hand at all times. + Appropriately segments and archives images and exams to the PACS archive. + Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas and/or patient rooms. **Qualifications** **Minimum Education:** + High School Diploma or GED Required **Work Experience:** + 2 years Related experience. Required **Licenses:** + Registered Technologist-Computed Tomography - ARRT Upon Hire Required or + Certified in Computed Tomography - NMTCB Upon Hire Required and + Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required **Courses and Training:** + Accredited program in radiologic technology and training in computer tomography procedures.
