General Statement Facilities Services and the Auxiliary Services departments of University Student Housing, Culinary Services, Sports Facilities, and Strand Union are responsible for maintenance and custodial of campus buildings and their surrounding areas. Duties and Responsibilities Custodians provide cleaning and light maintenance services for MSU.

Primary emphasis is on: Cleaning areas (including restrooms) Carpeted and hard-surface floor care Trash removal Room set-ups, moving and placing of furniture of varying sizes and weights Other related duties Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills All relevant education and experience that you submit in your application will be considered. Experience with custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, etc. Experience working effectively with minimal or no supervision. Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Experience providing excellent customer service. Certifications, classes completed, or knowledge of safety procedures utilized in a custodial, janitorial, or housekeeping position. The Successful Candidate Will Be able to positively and professionally perform all the functions of the position. Consistently exercise initiative and good judgment. Effectively and safely operate work-related equipment and tools. Accurately follow written and oral instructions and procedures. Exhibit strong communication skills. Work effectively and efficiently in close cooperation with staff in a team-oriented environment. Be able to complete multiple tasks in a timely manner. Quickly adapt to changing priorities. Possess strong organizational skills. Maintain excellent customer service. Be highly motivated and work with minimal supervision. Have excellent attention to detail. Represent the department and MSU to others in a professional and courteous manner.
