Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Cyber Systems Analyst/ Test Engineer to join our team! Do you find yourself wanting to discover the breaking points of hardware/software and influence its quality? Do you have the art for discovering flaws in hardware/software and ability to write detailed test steps for reproducing bugs or validating requirements? Our group is working on industry-leading Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) technologies and are setting new standards for what is possible in the field of DPI and have some of the best and the brightest in the industry working on our team.  Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with integrated product teams (IPTs) to determine the test scenarios and acceptance criteria for each feature in a product releaseEstimate, prioritize, plan, coordinate, and execute testing activitiesDevelop comprehensive manual test cases to be automated providing traceability to product features and proving the acceptance criteria has been metTest Linux client/server software applications and embedded hardware products and APIs,Participate in daily standups to provide project status updates, i.e. test progress, coverage, defect metrics, and overall assessmentCollaborate and coordinate with IPT leads to communicate scheduling risks, defects and issues found during testingPerform root cause analysis of defects and report detailed steps using Jira tickets for reproducing; retest as needed to verify effective resolution of defectsDocument, maintain and continuously improve upon testing processesPerform various types of testing, including component, integration, regression, load/performance, system, and user acceptance testingLead/Participate in testing on customer test systems and acceptance sign-offsSet up test environments to include installing software packages on Linux platforms or installing/configuring hardware/networking components for supporting automation testProactive, motivated, self-starter, excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsAbility to work under tight deadlines to deliver test case documentation, testing results, and test reports per scheduleCreative thinker – ability to come up with edge case, positive, and negative test scenariosStrong proficiency in networking analysis tools such as Wireshark/TsharkSolid understanding of the Linux CLI and quality assurance/testing best practicesProfessional experience working in integrated product teams using agile development and test processes

Desired Skills:

Experience using the Robot Automation Framework suite and Python for test automationExperience using version control systems and DevOps tools, preferably GIT, GitlabKnowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) conceptsExperience deploying, configuring, and using Virtual Machine environments (VMware, vagrant/libvirt)Experience configuring, troubleshooting, and performance testing networking devices (switches, routers, etc)Demonstrated leadership skills and desire to mentor others or one day lead a team

Required Skills:

Required Top Secret Security Clearance with PolyBachelor’s Degree preferred will consider work experience in lieu of a degreeSecurity+ or similar networking certification is a plus3 years’ experience using Linux CLI in a daily work environmentExperience with developing test procedures (manual and automated) for Linux software client/server networking analysis applicationsMinimum 3 years’ experience in testing, analyzing, or developing with networking protocols such as TCP, UDP, IP, DNS, VLANs, HTTP, and VoIP Protocols

Position will be based primarily at the Parsons office in Centreville, VA. Some local travel will be required.

Salary Range: 

$104,200.00 - $182,400.00
