Additionally, our client designs, builds, operates, and secures scalable cloud and IT infrastructures to meet their customers’ near-term needs and fulfill their long-term requirements.

 

Responsibilities

Our client is looking for a Data Architect to join their team! As a Data Architect, you will be responsible for the design, structure, and maintenance of data. You will ensure the accuracy and accessibility of data relevant to the project as well as the management and organization of data requires proficiency in database design (Concept Maps, ER Diagrams, etc).

Responsible for assisting in the establishment of an IT Architecture practice, and the adoption of an architecture and standards methodology.Manage activities that take place during solution ideation, solution design, and solution implementationReview business context for solutions to client challenges as well as defining the vision and requirements for the solution, recommending potential options, selecting the most optimal option, and the development of a roadmap for the selected solution. Communicate the architecture to the stakeholders and collaborates and coordinates with existing domain architects in the formalization and adoption of IT standards and procedures. Define and communicate a clear product vision for our client’s software products, aligning with user needs and business objectivesCreate and manage product roadmaps that reflect both innovation and growth strategiesPartner with a government product owner and a product team of 7-8 FTEsManage production data within multiple datasets ensuring fault tolerance and redundancyProvide Tier 3 technical support for deployed applications and dataflowsCollaborate with the rest of data engineering & architecture team to design and launch new features and servicesAnalyze, plan, and define data architecture frameworks, including security, reference data, metadata, and master dataCreating and implementing data management processes and procedures

Ensuring the integrity of data backup and storage systems

Monitoring security software and tools

Responding to security or usability concerns quicklyAnalyze and document solution complexity and interdependencies

Requirements

Understanding of cloud architectures and enabling tools and technologies, such as, AWS Cloud (GovCloud/C2S)Familiar with Amazon Web Managed Services (AWS)Comprehensive grasp of data warehouse design best practices for data modeling and ETL system designWorking knowledge with software platforms and services, such as, Docker, Kubernetes, JMS/SQS, SNS, Kafka, AWS Lambda, NiFi, Airflow, or similarWorking knowledge with datastores MongoDB/DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, S3, Redshift, JDBC/ODBC, and RedisExperience in performance tuning of applications, including data model and schema optimizationFamiliar with Linux/Unix server environmentsExperience with Agile development methodologyWorking knowledge with Collaboration tools, such as, Jira and ConfluenceA successful Data Architect must possess superior analytical skills and be detail-orientedAbility to communicate effectively as part of a larger team within the information technology departmentAble to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical staff

Preferred Requirements

A Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a related fieldFamiliarity and experience with the Intelligence Community (IC), and the intel cycleFamiliarity and experience with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)Direct Experience with DHS and Intelligence Community (IC) component's data architectures and environments (IC-GovCloud experience preferred)Developing application programming interfaces (APIs) to retrieve dataKeen interest in learning and using the latest software tools, methods, and technologies to solve real world problem sets vital to national securityWorking knowledge with public keys and digital certificatesExperience with DevOps environments

Education/Certification Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience is required

Clearance Requirements

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; an active TS/SCI clearance is required. Please be aware that onboarding can take 4-6 weeks for this position.
