ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Proven track record of designing and delivering large scale, high quality operational or analytical data systems on MS SQL Server. Very strong experience with SQL Server and building automated ETL pipelines in Azure Data Factory. Strong experience using Python for ETL and data manipulation Ability to assist with key architectural decisions, estimating work efforts, and leading development workstreams in an Agile environment. Understanding of effective monitoring, log analytics, and alerting. Ability to provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers. Willingness to stay current with the latest Microsoft Azure SQL services, methods, and trends. Strong experience with data security from coding standards to data governance. Provide technical recommendations to senior executives to assist the decisions on proposed IT investments/solutions. Offer expert advice on database solutions including assisting with planning and architectural design, development, and resolution of technical issues.

Innovation & Strategy:

Provide technical leadership to other engineers including contributing to product development. Effective communication of technology directions, capabilities, initiatives, and innovations to the other members of the leadership team. Alignment with technology peers to ensure a team-based delivery culture across shared resource pools. Provide guidance on new tools, approaches, methods, and features, leading technical solution team on implementation as required. Responsible for quality, innovation, project delivery, maintenance, and operation support aspects of portfolio against defined system SLAs.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

15+ Years total IT experience. 5+ years Snowflake experience 2+ years strong experience using the Microsoft Azure SQL database in a Production environment. 3+ years strong experience developing ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory in a Production environment. 2+ years coding in Python for data engineering related tasks 2+ years experience with Git based source code development and version control. Strong background in Database /Automation methods and tools - e.g., CI/CD tools, Terraform, etc. Experience with data security including encryption, masking and data governance. Familiarity with agile development methods. High aptitude in problem solving and customer service excellence. Strong understanding of technology strategy and solution architecture. Excellent communication skills. Highly organized and able to multi-task under time constraints. Ability to balance and prioritize work. A self-motivated team player. Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills mandatory High energy, flexible, innovative and the ability to manage responsibilities and priorities in a fast-paced and time-critical environment. May be required to work in a mobile capacity.
