Data Migration Specialist

Candidate must have or be willing to obtain a Public Trust Clearance 

DCCA is looking for an experienced Data Migration Specialist to lead the migration of the customer’s legacy data in Microsoft SQL Server to a defined modernized Postgres RDS data model.

·        Utilize data conversion and migration skills and oversee conversion script development, including tuning queries

·        Support data loading, monitoring progress, resolving data transition issues and reporting errors

·        Identify and analyze issues, make recommendations, and escalate issues as needed for resolution in a timely manner

·        Develop data migration process flows and prepare documentation describing the data migration approach

·        Perform data mapping of source-to-target data sets

·        Develop data migration execution plans

·        Lead efforts during test data migration exercises and refine conversion scripts

·        Facilitate cross-team collaboration to resolve any dependencies

Required Skills:

Proven experience:

·        5-8 years of proven experience:

o   SQL database, preferably Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server 2019

o   NiFi ETL for data migration

·        Technical experience developing/supporting lutions using Amazon Web Services (AWS)

·        Supporting databases in the AWS Cloud

·        Exceptionally strong communication skills, verbal and written.

·        Applicants shall have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years.

·        Excellent Communication skills

Desired Skills: 

·        Proven experience with:

o   Working in an Agile SCRUM environment

o   Collaborating in a multiple contractor environment

o   Previous experience working with financial data is preferred

o   Proficient in MS Word, and MS Excel

Education/Certifications:

·        Computer Science degree or Bachelor’s degree in a related major.

Candidate must have or be willing to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
