Job Summary
Responsibilities
Lead and assist research projects that integrates multi-omic data, statistical tool development and computational analyses to understand the molecular mechanisms of disease associated genetic variation.
Responsibilities may include the following laboratory duties: method development; data exploration; computational analyses; presenting at group meetings and departmental level seminars.
Responsibilities may also include the following non-laboratory duties: provide training support to other lab members.
Analyzes moderately complex data sets for the purpose of extracting and purposefully using applicable information.
Provides professional support to staff or faculty members in defining the project and applying principals of data science in manipulation, statistical applications, programming, analysis and modeling.
Performs other related work as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
Education:
PhD degree in genetics or statistics or computational biology or computer science.
Experience:
Expertise in statistics and/or computational skills and/or human genetics.
Experience in genomics, functional genomics, human genetics or relevant field.
Preferred Competencies
Proficiency working in linux environment, basic shell scripts, R and python.
Strong Analytical skills.
Problem-solving skills.
Organizational skills.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
