What You Will Do:
Guidehouse is seeking a Data Scientist to join our Defense and Security Segment, where the individual will collect and analyze data in support of organizational and mission goals, and support decision-making for large-scale programs within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Conduct ETL and data analysis using various technologies (i.e., Python)
Design and develop data visualization and dashboard solutions using data visualization software (i.e., Tableau, Power BI)
Maintain good working relationships with clients to enhance customer satisfaction and work with client management and staff to perform engagement services
Ensure data governance and quality assurance standards are met
Organize and lead client meetings, including scheduling meetings; drafting and delivering agendas and meeting minutes; providing and archiving required documentation; and documenting, tracking, and following-up on action items
Summarize and present information and reports to the team and make recommendations (both oral and written).
What You Will Need:
U.S. Citizenship and the ability to receive a DHS Public Trust
Bachelor's Degree
THREE (3) or more years of data analytics, data science or data engineering
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in computer science or related field
3+ years of professional related experience in data engineering, with a focus on processing large datasets
2+ years of hands-on data analytics and visualization experience
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Experience with design and build of ETL programs, interfaces, and data reconciliation processes
Experience developing reports and dashboards for data consumers
Thorough business understanding of data science application and ability to communicate with key decision-makers
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff within an organization
