JOB SUMMARY\n

Under the general supervision of the Court Administrator, this position performs a broad range of administrative duties in support of the Municipal Court operations while complying with state\/local laws and city policies. \n

QUALIFICATIONS\n

Education and Experience:\n\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent required.\nTwo years of general office, clerical or customer service experience.\nTwo years of experience in a Municipal Court. \nPrevious cash handling experience.\nTexas Municipal Court Clerk Certification; Level II preferred.\n\n

Special Requirements:\n\nMust pass the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.\nMust possess a valid class \"C\" Texas driver's license \nMicrosoft experience (Word, Excel, etc.) required. \nAbility to type 35 wpm with 90% accuracy.\nWork overtime as needed to complete essential job functions and\/or community events.\n\n

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: \n\nKnowledge of basic accounting methods to balance receipts.\nKnowledge of various Microsoft products. \nKnowledge of the court system.\nSkill in the use of computer software applications.\nAbility to be informative and courteous with the public and other city employees.\nAbility to quickly and accurately scan large amounts of information.\nAbility to quickly and accurately type information in the computer.\nAbility to willingly perform duties in a team environment.\nAbility to understand policies and confidentiality.\nAbility to multitask.\nAbility to stand for long periods.\n\n

PHYSICAL DEMANDS\n

The work is sedentary and requires the ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and\/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: fingering, mental acuity, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, talking and visual acuity.
