Job Description:

Our client, a listed mining house with assets across Africa, is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Exploration Manager to join their team in Namibia. As a Deputy Exploration Manager, you will play a key role in leading the exploration efforts, particularly focusing on lithium, Rare Earth Elements (REE), and copper commodities within the project.

Responsibilities:

Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of exploration programs, with a focus on resource drill-outs.

Provide technical expertise and guidance to the exploration team, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety standards.

Analyze geological data, interpret results, and make recommendations for further exploration activities.

Collaborate with senior management to develop exploration strategies and budgets.

Oversee and manage exploration activities, including drilling programs, soil sampling, and geological mapping.

Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, assess geological formations, and identify potential exploration targets.

Liaise with government agencies, local communities, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations and foster positive relationships.

Mentor and train junior geologists and exploration staff.

Requirements: Qualification and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Geology or related field; Master's degree advantageous

5 to 10 years of experience in exploration geology, including significant experience in resource drill-outs.

Previous exposure to mining operations is advantageous.

Strong understanding of lithium, REE, and copper exploration principles and techniques.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret geological data effectively.

Proven leadership and project management abilities, with experience leading exploration teams.

Familiarity with JORC reporting standards and regulations.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
