Job Title: Design EngineerLocation: Irvine, CAJob Family Group: Design & EngineeringJob Family: Design EngineeringJob SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and assessing product designs to ensure they meet the highest quality standards and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate quality standards into all design and manufacturing processes.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and Development: Create and develop new product designs and components, ensuring they meet functional requirements and quality standards.DIOVV: Perform Design Input, Output, Verification, and Validation (DIOVV) activities to ensure product designs meet specified requirements.Assessment of Models and Prints: Evaluate and assess models and prints for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with design specifications.Tolerance Analysis: Conduct tolerance analysis to ensure that product designs can be manufactured within specified tolerances and will function correctly in their intended applications.Quality Assurance Integration: Collaborate with product development teams to ensure quality standards are integrated into all design and manufacturing processes.Document Review and Approval: Review and approve design and development documents and plans to ensure conformance with quality system requirements.Design Reviews: Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, and potential problems.Problem Solving: Lead problem-solving and improvement activities to address quality issues and reduce product and process nonconformities.Process Audits: Conduct audits of design and manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with quality system requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.Data Analysis: Compile and analyze statistical data to identify and prioritize areas for quality improvement.Reporting: Prepare and present reports on product and process quality to management and customers.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.Experience: 1-3 years of experience in design engineering or a related role.Skills:Proficiency in Design Input, Output, Verification, and Validation (DIOVV).Strong ability to assess models and prints for accuracy and compliance.Expertise in conducting tolerance analysis.Thorough understanding of quality assurance methodologies.Familiarity with product design and manufacturing processes.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
