Location Name New York Office Responsibilities

As a Designer you will be working with all facets of design development for assigned categories alongside the fun and highly talented Design team. You will be doing market research to understand our customers, sketching, working on fabric, print and trim development, collaborating with our tech team during fittings and communicating daily with our Production and Merchandising teams.

Autonomously designs and innovates on products for their assigned categories without daily oversightContributes to overall company product strategiesAttends category cross-functional meetings with merchandising, production, tech design and planning, and is prepared to lead discussions and present relevant information Stays up to date on menswear trends and presents those ideas cross-functionallyTranslates customer needs into viable product ideasBuilds product related deadlines on top of company calendarCollaborates with merchandising team to bring new key ideas to categoriesAttends retail trade shows and visits factories to stay up to date on industry and product trends and production innovations when requiredResponsible for designing full product lines for their categories; keen eye for fabric, pattern, trim, color and print, as well as maintaining cost targets and imu goals.Clear understanding of all technical aspects of assigned categories design and development, including different types of fabric finishes, performance properties, trim and garment construction.Responsible for creating detailed and accurate tech packs (Adept at relevant design systems, BeProduct, Adobe, Miro, Microsoft)Contributes point of view in fitting and take notes/update tech packs and sketches accordinglyCreates clear and directional design boards, owns editing development to 50% development ratio in partnership with MerchandisingComfortable speaking publicly and presenting designs in variety of settingsAble to lead with confidence in assortment meetings with merchandisingAttends seasonal detail meetings and directs conversation of assortment, responsible for selecting trims and product details.Keeps clear, open communication with production and merchandisingResponsible for pulling fabrics, color inspiration and trims for categories, has good understanding of fabric construction and attributesApproves lab dips, handlooms, trim sheets, knit-downs, trim development, fit samples and pre-production samplesCommunicates all product details for site merchandising to input into website

 

Required Experience & Qualifications

5+ years of design experienceStrong design aesthetic and ability to produce relevant and innovative design conceptsHave the ability to sell ideas and clearly explain product designsExpert at using Adobe design softwareComfortable with design calendar, deadlines and managing competing prioritiesComfortable with garment construction in assigned categories.

Actual compensation offered is dependent upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, work location, education, relevant skills and experience of the candidate.

Salary Range $94,900-$134,900 Closing
