What You Can Expect

Responsible for the design, development, and processing of specialty instruments. Work is expected to encompass both the development of new products and maintenance of existing products.   Position will lead development aspects of the project as a core team member.  Engineers are expected to communicate with sales representatives and lead a large number of projects at one time.

How You'll Create Impact Leads the development of new products and manufacturing processes. Identifies all tasks required to complete project assignments according to Design Control procedures.  Prepares work plans outlining estimated manpower requirements, cost, and timeline.Designs for manufacturability and for optimizing inspection and costConducts or participates in root cause analysis for problem solvingContributes to generation of a comprehensive protocol for testing/analyzing the productCoordinating product evaluation with surgeons or sales representativesPrepares new product specifications or modifies existing specificationsGenerates or updates design assurance and risk documentation for the productCompletes stress analysis on new or existing designsGenerates and/or manages the creation of prototype models to evaluate new design conceptsWhat Makes You Stand Out Working knowledge of new product development including project management of small-scale projectsDemonstrated ability to methodically investigate, determine appropriate solution and resolve problems using current and new technologiesAbility to develop project schedule, and to assess and manage cross functional team’s progress on assignments relative to project scheduleAbility to process customer complaints, engineering changes and nonconforming product, and make recommendations based upon business principlesProfessional, concise, tactful and sensitive in communications.  Accomplishes objectives when communicating with internal personnel, and external customers and vendorsDemonstrated good written and verbal communication skills including presentation skillsFamiliarity with drafting principals and/or geometric dimensioning and tolerancing preferred.Assures quality requirements are metMicrosoft Office Suite and ProjectsYour Background Minimum B.S. degree from an ABET accredited school (or global equivalent) in one of the following engineering disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering Technology, Bioengineering Technology, Aerospace Engineering or Aeronautical Engineering.Travel Expectations Up to 5%
