The Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled and adaptable DevOps Engineer with extensive experience in software engineering and devops to join our dynamic team. This role involves researching, designing, developing and/or modifying software systems. (e.g., custom, COTS, GOTS) You will help with system improvement and enhacements, while also contributing to new development initiatives. Responsibilities:

Lead the maintenance and management of current web serversSpearhead migration efforts to newer Linux OS versionsEnsure seamless functionality during upgrades, particularly with CASPORT authorizationDrive collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate new solutionsArchitect improvements to existing web infrastructuresImplements strategic goals and establishes operational plans for technical areaDevelops and implements innovative products, processes, standards, or operational plans through research and integration of best practicesSignificantly improves existing processes and practicesCommunicates with executive leadershipProvides measurable input into new products, processes, systems, and operational plans with impact on overall function resultsDemonstrates technical innovation in supporting business objectives and missionResponsible for improving upon existing processes and systems using significant conceptualizing, reasoning, and interpretationTackles numerous, typically undefined problems requiring extensive investigation and leveraging of technical knowledgeCommunicates with parties within and outside of own job function, including external stakeholdersWorks to influence others to accept new concepts, practices, and approachesProvides guidance, coaching, and training to other technical employees across the CompanyLeads large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance involving cross-functional teamsServes as a subject matter expert within the organization

 
Qualifications:

Required:

12 years in software development with a B.S. degree, or 14-16 years of experience without a degree.At least 10+ years of recent experience developing in JavaScript and PHP.A minimum of 10+ years of experience developing software in Linux, Windows, or Mac OS environments.Proficiency in MS SQL, Express.js, React.js, Node.js, and GIT for version control and collaboration.Interface with researchers to gather and interpret complex requirementsBreak down requirements into actionable milestonesCommunicate milestones effectively to team members and stakeholdersUtilize project tracking tools like JiraDocument architecture in Confluence

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$109,800 - $241,600
