**UPMC Western Maryland is looking for a casual Diagnostic Technologist, also known as a Rad Tech, to join** **their** **team of life-changers! This position will work varying shifts to support department needs.** The Diagnostic Technologist performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of advanced technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. Whether you are a new grad or an experienced tech, UPMC can help you advance in your career! _Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary based on their individual experience and education._ **Responsibilities:** + Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives. + Performs all job responsibilities of Diagnostic Tech I. + Demonstrates competency of specialty equipment (O.R., Fluoro Procedures, etc.) and analyzes data promptly. Performs electrocardiograms and lab draw functions if applicable. + Monitors quality control activities and demonstrates advanced level of knowledge in Diagnostic Imaging by providing patient care as defined by the most up to day protocols and procedures. + Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team. + Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups. + Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development. + Assist with the training of staff and student technologists. Diagnostic Technician + Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from ARRT approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date. + Technologists hired before graduation will have indirect supervision by an ARRT certified diagnostic technologist until the degree is verified. Diagnostic Technician Adv. + Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology. + 2 years Diagnostic experience required. + Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion. **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** + ARRT Certificate. ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist. Must obtain radiography registry within 12 months of hire date. + Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). CPR or BLS Required.
