Role and Responsibilities

The Logistics Strategy & Planning team’s Logistics Process Innovation Director is responsible for organizing Logistics related projects, facilitating alignment and completing all project setup activities, proactively moving projects forward, tracking status, and delivering the solutions to the end users with thorough testing and training activities.

It is important for the candidate to have a deep understanding of Project Management, as well as Logistics Processes and Systems.  The candidate will be most successful if they understand and can quickly execute end to end Project Management activities including stakeholder alignment, communications planning and execution, status tracking and reporting, risk management, test planning, and deployment planning and management. The candidate also needs to have significant experience level in all areas of Logistics operations and processes including Inbound, Outbound, Warehouse Management/Inventory Management, and Reverse Logistics operations. 

The best candidate will be able to communicate well, deliver excellent results every day, be highly focused, operate in a fast-paced environment, and be flexible to adjust to changing priorities each day as needed. This role has daily visibility with top management including Director through VP and will require additional hours to make sure projects complete on time. 

Understand existing Samsung process and systems and identify improvements that will integrate well into the Samsung environmentDeliver sustainable solutions from setup & design through to implementation & supportFacilitate design alignment discussions for process and system changesImplement efficient and innovative Logistics processes and systems for Inbound, Warehouse, Inventory, Outbound, and Reverse Logistics operationsPerform data analysis when needed for root cause on systems or process issuesRegularly communicate project status to stakeholdersManage overall Logistics-wide project tracker of all Logistics Process Innovation projectsManage VOC (voice of customer) requests with internal systems team including confirming design and test resultsManage warehouse transitions with internal and 3PL resources and clear process steps outlined in a project management trackerManage the contract process between external consulting resources and SEA Legal including reviewing contracts and outlining terms and conditions updates needed for the best interest of SamsungManage budget requests and review/submit invoice approvalsIdentify and manage to completion quarterly stretch goals for the teamOperate as point of contact for any office or HR related activities for the team including new team member hiring/onboarding, new contractor setup, contact lists, etc.

Skills and Qualifications

Bachelors of Science degree required (Business Information Management, Engineering or Supply Chain Management)12+ years of Project Management experience10+ years of Logistics experience8+ years of Process Improvement / Data Analysis experienceExceptionally skilled in Microsoft tools (Excel, Powerpoint)Experience communicating/working with Legal, Warehouse 3PLs, Finance teams, & Supply ChainSkilled in communicating status, requests, analysis to executivesExperience with planning, organizing, and prioritizing multiple complex assignments and projects and successfully driving them to completion within highly aggressive timelinesConsumer Electronics and Home Appliance industry experienceERP and WMS understanding and experience is a plusBilingual (Korean / English) is a plusStrong organization, communication, problem solving and data analytical skillsProven success in a highly dynamic, fast paced, deadline-driven environment.Be self-motivated, organized, and operate effectively with little directionOperate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal more than 90 percent of work time.Ability to work additional hours beyond normal schedule as needed to meet project deadlines.Occasional travel to warehouses or other company / service provider locations for meetings; travel estimated at ~10 percent.
