Director Annual Giving

Position Highlights:

Reporting to the Associate Vice President (AVP) of the Individual Philanthropy Programs (AVP, IPP) the Director of Annual Giving is responsible for planning, implementing, managing, and evaluating a comprehensive annual giving program focused on shaping a sustainable tradition of annual support that aligns with the Foundation's goals. 

As a key member of the Philanthropy team, the Director of Annual Giving  will work closely with the AVP (IPP)  the Annual Giving Coordinator, and other teams across the organization to create and execute plans that maximize annual, renewable, and upgraded gifts from a diverse group of donors.

The Director of Annual Giving will implement key fundraising strategies and assist in translating institutional priorities into an annual giving program. Collaborate and work closely with gift officers, physicians, and clinical leadership in identifying and maintaining the flow of information throughout the organization. Provide strategic direction for all healthcare-related pipeline development and annual giving activities.

 

 

Select Responsibilities:

Work closely with the AVP IPP to set the strategic direction and guide implementation to achieve ambitious goals to grow the annual giving program. In partnership with Foundation colleagues, guide strategies to maximize fundraising tactics in all annual giving channels (digital, print, social media). Actively manage a portfolio of annual giving donors ($1,000-$9,999). Collaborate with Foundation colleagues to develop strategies to identify and expand qualified annual and mid-level donors into the Major Giving pipeline. Consult with the Prospect Development and Analytics team to develop reports/dashboards for the annual giving program. Understand, translate, and effectively represent H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center’s work, impact, and priorities to donors and other key stakeholders.

Credentials and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree within relevant field. Minimum of years eight (8) years development experience, with six (6) years of documented experience as a manager of annual fund giving, digital, and print appeal programs. Demonstrated track record of developing and executing successful annual giving solicitation strategies, including experience managing a comprehensive and integrated annual giving calendar. Ability to analyze giving trends and retention rates to maximize the success of renewal and upgrade strategies and work closely with colleagues to develop a pipeline of donors to support the donor continuum. Experience in direct mail and digital solicitation best practices and implementation. Ability to ensure timeliness, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness of annual giving activities. A positive, solutions-oriented demeanor and the ability to build and sustain strong relationships with staff, volunteers, and donors to deliver results. Alignment of strategies with marketing campaigns and monthly cancer awareness campaigns. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Ability to think strategically, develop innovative solutions, and facilitate growth. Excellent planning, organizing, and supervisory skills. Weekend work required at times. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.

 

Preferred:

Master’s Degree within relevant field. Ten (10) years’ development experience, with seven (7) years of documented experience as an annual giving professional with a proven track record in soliciting annual gifts. Additionally, three (3) years of management experience. Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT Preferred experience in a healthcare or academic Advancement setting Professional experience in a business or governmental setting with responsibilities involving finance and data
