Salary: 99,099.00-148,629.00 USD Facility: McAuley Residence SNF Sub Acute Shift: Shift 1 Status: Full Time FTE: 1.000000 Bargaining Unit: ACE Associates Exempt from Overtime: Exempt: Yes Work Schedule: Days Hours: 7:00AM-3:00PM / 8:00AM-4:00PM - Times will vary Summary: The Director of Nursing (DON), Sub Acute, contributes to the development, management, and strategy growth of the facility focusing on the provision of high-quality, cost effective care for the patient/resident with a disability or chronic illness. The DON is responsible for evaluating the quality and appropriateness of care, the effectiveness and efficiency of systems within the setting, and instituting practice changes based on evaluation, and supporting interdisciplinary performance efforts within the continuum of care comprised of long term residents and short-stay clinically complex, medical sub-acute, and orthopedic patients. Promotes institutional and professional nursing values, goals, and objectives among nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members. Directs the implementation, and ensures compliance with, standards of nursing practice. Responsible for providing supportive care to patients/residents by assessing, and evaluating the care provided by all nursing clinical staff. The DON allocates available resources for the efficient delivery of care and participates in executive decision making related to departmental functions for the nursing services provided 24 hours/day. The DON is a strategic partner in driving the financial performance in collaboration with the entire interdisciplinary leadership team. Responsibilities: EDUCATION + Current New York State Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse required; + Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Required; + Master's Degree preferred + BLS certified or obtained within 3 (three) months of hire EXPERIENCE + Background to include nursing clinical experience; + Four (4) years leadership/management experience in a healthcare setting; + Four (4) years previous Long Term Care experience required KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY + Strong leadership skills; + Strong clinical quality management skills; + Strong financial ability; + Knowledge of rules and regulations governing Long Term Care and the NYS Nurse Practice Act; + Ability to communicate effectively; + Demonstrates ability to prioritize needs and solve problems expeditiously; + Ability to coordinate data from multiple sources; + Excellent verbal and written communication skills; + Computer literate; and + Customer focus WORKING CONDITIONS + Office environment; may require long, irregular work hours; + Travel between CH facilities may be required + Normal heat, light, space, and safe working environment; typical of most office jobs + Frequent exposure to many disagreeable physical conditions REQNUMBER: 28891
