Director of OSP Engineering

Duties / Responsibilities:

Manage and lead various teams including engineers in supporting outside plant engineering. Collaborate with executive leadership team and establish relevant processes for departments. Represent the company with Cities and Municipalities and other permitting entities. Evaluate technical aspects of contracts relevant to the discipline, make recommendations, and collaborate with legal team. Oversee engineering deadlines. Analyze and approve OSP design aspects and course of action for OSP new technologies and types of services. Ensure teams comply to established OSP processes. Evaluate and approve OSP methods and procedures for official company OSP design, documentation, and guidelines. Significantly enhance current software relevancy, conduct needs analysis and implementation of new software. Manage OSP design team. Evaluate, develop, and drive day-to day execution of department metrics. Assess and approve new vendors based on technical aspects, capacity, and negotiate rates based on market. Participate in internal and external technical and networking events. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering or other Engineering (Master’s preferred). 10 years of field experience in planning, designing and OSP construction. Proven technical and substantial industry experience. Excellent organizational and technical skills. Industry-related experience preferred.
