Director of Sales- Gampac Logistics (Remote/Virtual with Travel)

Reporting directly to the Vice President, Sales GAMPAC, the Director, Sales GAMPAC is responsible for the proactive development and growth of profitable new business. The Director, Sales GAMPAC will be challenged to expand account base, pursue and close new business, increase revenues, and improve profitability.

This position is remote/virtual which means the work can be completed from anywhere except Hawaii or United States Territories. This position also requires anywhere between 30 and 50% percent travel.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Manage sourcing of new accounts. Build and maintain relationships with customers and assist and direct team members in sourcing and growing customer base.

Maintains Player/Coach role responsible for individual sales goal as well as leading and coaching a team of Account Managers to reach their sales goals.

Owns development of key relationships with US Foods Category Management and National Account leadership and staff. This includes building partnerships and strategy to develop new customer pipelines targeting US Foods suppliers and national account customers.

Act as a liaison between the customers and operations staff.  Support implementation of new business between operations, accounting, pricing, and other key departments. Ensure customer expectations of service, capacity and other key metrics are delivered with the support of the organization.

Partner with the network and pricing team through customer RFP process, identifying markets for growth and supporting customer solutions.

Act as business subject matter expert in development of our CRM tool, sales strategy, sales pipeline, sales analytics, and development to support more efficient and effective business development processes.


SUPERVISION:

Supervise 5 – 8 Account Managers

Internal:

Category Management leadership and management staff

National Accounts leadership and management staff

Operations and pricing team

Accounting

IT/Systems support team

External:

Key customers and prospects.

Supply chain & logistics leadership

A primary contact for industry groups such as CSCMP, TIA, Food Shippers, etc.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Remote: This role is fully remote, and the associate is expected to perform assigned responsibilities from a home-based environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

7 years of sales experience with a minimum of 3 years in transportation, 3PL, or Supply Chain.

2 years of people leadership experience.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Marketing, or equivalent years of experience

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Suite of Services (TMS, Transportation Brokerage Services).

Develop and execute business plan strategies (proven track record of success).

Sector/Vertical’s (Food-ambient/temp controlled, Retail, CPG etc.).

Supply Chain Management software knowledge (CRM, Lead Generation tools).

Computer proficient (Office suite, Power Point, Word, Excel).

Strong Presenter to Executive Level Management.

Team player (demonstrated coordination with Operations, Logistics Engineering, IT, Finance).

Proven successful negotiating ability.

Travel: 30-50%
