As the Director of Sales & Marketing, you will be responsible for administering all sales, advertising, public relations, and promotions functions for Yellowstone National Park Lodges. With nine lodging facilities offering over 2,000 rooms, accommodations in Yellowstone National Park are plentiful for those wishing to experience the national park in its summertime glory. From the most famous lodging facility in a national park—the Old Faithful Inn—to the ol’ western rustic cabins of Roosevelt Lodge, we hope this is the dream job you have been looking for. Discounts in and around Yellowstone Responsibilities Administers all sales, advertising, public relations, and promotions functions for the division. Establishes the division’s annual marketing plan consisting of annual sales goals and marketing strategies. Develops and manages the department’s annual operating budget. Manages the department’s staff in a collaborative and supportive manner in order to maximize the application of their expertise and enhance productivity while maintaining an engaging and enjoyable work environment. Designs, executes, and evaluates marketing programs and campaigns, incorporating a use of digital, online, print, public relations and other best practices, metrics and tools. Oversees the property’s website to ensure engaging and intuitive user experience with a focus on maintaining relevant and appealing content that drives revenue for lodging, retail, and tours. Collaborates with corporate sales office, develops market mix strategies and ensures maximum utilization of the wholesale series/FIT market segments. Oversees group reservations sales office for Yellowstone’s designated property accounts. Oversees the meeting and event sales program, advising the sales manager in order to develop and grow meeting/event revenue targeting low occupancy periods and seasons. Oversees the communications program (internal and external), providing guidance and support to the Communications Manager, in order to plan, create, and distribute critical, timely, and appropriately crafted messaging that will increase revenue and/or enhance the employee and guest experience. Coordinates tourism-related initiatives with federal, state and local agencies. Coordinates all travel-related media contacts. Administers all collateral material production and fulfillment programs. Develops and implements in-house market research as well as analysis of market trends from outside sources. Works toward development of alternative markets which enhance traditional valley periods of hotel utilization. Works with department directors to develop creative strategies for increasing under-utilized operations. Represents company at local, state, regional and national industry conferences and conventions. Acts as representative for the company on designated local, state, regional and national tourism-related organizations. Responsible for cultivating and maintaining an excellent client relationship with the National Park Service. Incorporates best practices to drive improvement and efficiencies into management of departmental responsibilities. Collaborates with sister brands within the corporate portfolio to identify reveneue and or cost saving synergies. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications Thorough understanding and knowledge of sales, marketing, and public relations in the hospitality industry. Minimum of five (5) years sales, marketing, PR and/or related experience. Previous experience in a national park concessions environment preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proven management skills. College degree required. Physical Requirements include: Ability to sit for long periods of time – 60% of workday Ability to work in a higher altitude environment – 100% of the workday Ability to work for long periods of time on a computer. 50-85% of workday Ability to lift boxes of materials of 30 – 50 lbs – 5% of workday Ability to walk, reach, stand, as necessary to perform job duties as noted.
