Director of Software Engineering, Cash and Check Management

As a Senior Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking Cash and Check Line of Business, you lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery.

Job responsibilities

Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives Manages decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams Champions the firm’s culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years  of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.  Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists. Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals. Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent Deep expertise building and operating large scale high performance environments with distributed systems and cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) Deep expertise with enterprise design patterns and industry best practices with experience using modern technology (e.g., Java, Cassandra, Kafka) and design patterns (e.g., microservices, APIs). Ability to work in a dynamic, agile environment leading/working with geographically distributed teams. Experience with building, leading and mentoring technology teams and next level leaders within the organization.  Experience with implementing industry standard risk, cybersecurity & technology controls.  Strong organizational and management skills.
