DME Technician

Job Details:

The DME Technician is responsible for the timely delivery and pickup of patient equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

Coordinate delivery/pick-up times with patients in a timely and efficient manner

Transport and deliver equipment and supplies for each patient in a safe and secure manner. Report any damage to Operations Manager

Explain each document in the New Patient Packet to the patient/client or caregiver

Educate the patient/client or caregiver of their rights and responsibilities

Ensure the patient/client or caregiver understands the proper use and care of the equipment delivered

Maintain all paperwork necessary for each delivery such as: daily route log, equipment log, and route log

Pick-up and return equipment upon request of physician/patient/client/caregiver

Clean and service equipment according to policies and procedures

Maintain inventory and record all medical equipment and supplies received and delivered

Keep warehouse clean and organized

Maintain professional appearance and attitude at all times and serve as a good-will liaison between the company and customer or any other individuals encountered within the scope of employment

When assigned, responsible for on-call duties 24 hours a day and maintaining on-call log

Responsible for knowing and complying with applicable policies and procedures

Immediate reporting of any accidents or mishaps while on company time to Operations Manager

Other duties as assigned

Proficient computer skills

Knowledge of durable medical equipment

Excellent customer service skills

Good verbal and written communication skills

Strong time management skills

Highly organized with a strong attention to detail

Can perform physical lifting for delivery and stocking equipment
