Doula (Bilingual preferred)

Brightpoint (formerly known as Children’s Home & Aid) invites you to join our team of mission-driven staff who share a common vision: an equitable world where all children and families thrive in strong communities. As a leader in the human services sector for 140 years, we aim to advance the well-being of children by investing in families and strengthening communities through data-informed, collaborative, and preventative solutions. 

The Doula provides inclusive, in-home visits within a strength-based, family-centered support model to young mothers and fathers who would like support services. The Doula will provide outreach services, prenatal education activities, and assist the family in preparing for childbirth through both home visiting and group based services. As the Doula, you will advocate for the participant families by providing emotional support, parental education, labor and delivery guidance and post partum care. 

Candidate qualifications: 

A Bachelor’s Degree in social work or human service, OR Associate's Degree plus completion of Doula certification training, OR Associate's Degree plus two years' relevant social service experience.  Must be at least 21 years of age. Proficient in speaking, reading and writing in English and Spanish preferred. Able to attend in-person family visits and meetings required. Valid driver's license, insurance, and a reliable vehicle required.

Job details: 

Compensation: Range starts at $21.15/hr; offers are commensurate with experience. Bilingual candidates may receive additional financial compensation. Benefits: Medical/dental/vision insurance, 3+ weeks paid time off in the first year including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day (PTO increases with tenure); 11 paid holidays, supplemental insurance options, 401(k) with match (more benefits details here)  Location: Home-based and community-based services provided in the Boone, Grundy, and DeKalb Counties;  home office located at our DeKalb office. Schedule: Full-time, hourly; general business hours with some flexibility required for evening visits and attending after-hours births. Student Loan Forgiveness: Brightpoint is an approved agency for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).
