EEG Technician(PRN)

Description:Holy Cross is looking to hire a dynamic PRN EEG Technician for the Neuroscience Department.
This is an on-call Tuesday and Friday per diem shift

Is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care to a specified group of patients. Collaborates with physicians, medical professionals and other staff to ensure the quality of care given. Provides care for the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult or geriatric patient (as defined in the unit scope of care). Utilizes knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the patient's age to ensure that care provided meets the unique physical needs of the patient. Involves appropriate parties in the assessment, treatment and continuing care of the patient as needed.

Supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital.

Location: Holy Cross Health has two hospitals and four healthcare centers all a short driving distance from Washington DC and Baltimore, MD

***On-call, Tuesday, and Friday shifts***

Minimum Licensure/Certification Required (if applicable):

Current BCLS training with recertification every two years

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred six months experience performing noninvasive Electroencephlography procedures.

Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with medical, nursing, and administrative staff. 

Any equivalent combination of education and work experience required to provide comparable knowledge skills and abilities.

Able to demonstrate good ability to communicate using English language in written and verbal fashion, promoting a team approach to patient care

Working Conditions:

Physical Requirements: Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Visual Acuity: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.

Supervision provided by the Director of Neurosciences and the Medical Director.
