Regional EHS Manager

The Regional EHS Manager will support the establishment and maintenance of EHS programs at the company operating facilities.  This position reports to the Senior Director of Operations for the region with a dotted line to the Vice President of EHS and supports Operations Leadership by overseeing operating plans that ensure effective management of risk at the facility level and assure that site operations are fully integrated with the business.  The Regional EHS Manager will contribute expertise across all regional sites to provide support necessary for Curaleaf to achieve its strategic objectives in a safe and efficient manner.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

Support the implementation of EHS programs as they apply to the regional operating locations

including but not limited to: regulatory requirements, injury reduction, risk assessments/audits, cultural improvements, collaboration with key stakeholders to establish, integrate and meet goals, annual objectives and programs of work.

Partner with and provide guidance and expertise to Operations Leadership and their respective teams/locations. Implement effective EHS risk management methodologies for regional operations at all scales. Lead incident investigations to determine root cause and associated Corrective And Preventive Actions. Coordinate the conduct of tactical and operational EHS activities in order to achieve goals and assure compliance. Conduct site reviews to determine compliance gaps, exposure risks and opportunities for improvement; drive implementation of same. Provide leadership, guidance and support to colleagues across Curaleaf facilities in order to foster a self-sustaining EHS culture that drives continuous improvement. Ensure that operating site leadership has the correct competencies and tools to manage risks In all areas of activity, seek to evaluate, implement and demonstrate industry best practices.  Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts. Coordinate the development and implementation of training programs. Ensure documentation is prepared and updated in line with all regulatory guidelines and promote compliance to EHS and regulatory requirements.

Education:    

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or relevant scientific field.

Experience:

A minimum of 7 years relevant experience in an Environmental, Health & Safety leadership capacity ideally gained in the pharmaceutical, agricultural or food industry. Demonstrated ability to manage effective solutions at multiple locations.

Skills/Abilities:

Strong leadership skills and a proven ability to initiate and implement programs of positive change with energy and enthusiasm. Have a strong understanding and in-depth knowledge of EHS regulatory requirements and technical codes of practice as well as industry best practices as they pertain to cultivation and processing. Excellent interpersonal, communication, influence, planning, organization, and time management skills.  Ability to work on complex problems with limited data in which the analysis of situations requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Demonstrated ability to lead problem-solving exercises as well as committees/teams; exercising judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
