Electrical Design Supervisor

Our client's M&M (mining & metals) team is a global leader in studying, engineering, and executing projects, redefining project delivery models and embracing innovative technologies. You'll play a key role in delivering engineering to our client's high safety and quality standards, leading multi-disciplined teams for EPC or EPCM projects across North America, European Union, Asia, and South America.

Job Description: Create layouts and initial designs for large-scale mineral processing facilities. Oversee the electrical design team and collaborate with design teams across global execution centers. Coordinate with other design disciplines for integrated project execution. Develop electrical systems, including grounding, lighting, and cable tray configurations. Design electrical rooms according to regulatory standards. Review and approve electrical drawings. Conduct thorough reviews of vendor and other discipline drawings. Prepare project estimates, schedules, and material forecasts. Offer guidance and mentorship to fellow designers.
Job Requirements: Possess a two-year technical diploma. Have extensive experience of twenty to twenty-five years in electrical design within heavy industries. Previous involvement in medium to large engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects is required. Preferred experience in mineral processing projects. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Demonstrated progression of responsibility and leadership in EPC design environments. Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision. Familiarity with Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and/or National Electrical Code (NEC). Experience with SmartPlant Electrical and SmartPlant 3D is advantageous. Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD or MicroStation is preferred. This role may also be suitable for a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with substantial experience as a Design Lead rather than a Design Engineer.
