Electrical Engineer

Our client's M&M (mining & metals) team is a global leader in studying, engineering, and executing projects, redefining project delivery models and embracing innovative technologies. You'll play a key role in delivering engineering to our client's high safety and quality standards, leading multi-disciplined teams for EPC or EPCM projects across North America, European Union, Asia, and South America.

Job Description: Serve as the lead engineer or area lead electrical engineer for significant-scale studies and EPCM projects in mineral processing. Develop and assess project labor and material estimates. Create electrical equipment specifications and conduct technical bid evaluations for various equipment types. Conduct and verify calculations, including short circuit and voltage drop analyses for electrical distribution systems. Review vendor drawings and address related issues. Attend factory acceptance tests as a witness. Offer engineering support during construction phases. Manage schedules, estimates, and manpower forecasts. Travel as necessary to ensure project success. Understand electrical design considerations and interdisciplinary interfaces crucial for complex mineral processing facility designs. Prioritize HSE, technical assurance, and safety in design. Communicate technical solutions effectively to diverse audiences. Provide leadership, technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and mentorship within the department.
Job Requirements: Hold a professional engineer registration in Canada. Possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Have at least 15 years of experience in an EPC or EPCM setting. Preferably have experience in mineral processing; other heavy industrial experience may be considered. Ideally have experience with power systems up to high voltage and familiarity with ETAP software. Knowledgeable about electrical codes and regulations. Demonstrate supervisory experience. Proficient in English with strong written and oral communication abilities.
