We are seeking a professional Electrical Lead Engineer to join our Buildings & Facilities division! STV specializes in the planning, organization, and development of engineering activities for the construction and maintenance of building structures and facilities.
Our Engineers work on high quality, high-profile, national and international projects. You will actively participate in the full project cycle, from the design phase through the final construction close-out.
Responsibilities:
You will have the opportunity to:
Apply client and departmental design guidelines and/or drafting standards in daily work assignments with guidance from senior staffEnsure that layer names, line types, text sizes, and drawing arrangements are in accordance with standards as set forth on the ProjectLead projects from start to finishManage budget and schedule for the project’s resources and deliverablesParticipate in or lead squad check drawing package reviewsPlan own daily work and the work of other team membersBe able to read, interpret, and check vendor drawings and vendor catalogsTravel independently to and conduct site surveys to document electrical, instrumentation, and controls at existing client sites and facilities (~ 5% of time)Required Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical EngineeringMinimum of 8 years of relevant experienceRegistered Professional Engineer - P.E. License is preferred Strong working knowledge of building and energy codesWorking knowledge of industry standards: UL, API, NFPA, IEEE, IES, Energy Codes (ASHRAE), etc.Proficient with power system studies using EasyPower, SKM or ETAPProficient with specifying, designing installations, & protective relay settings for medium voltage electrical equipment (motors, transformers, switchgear, MCC, VFDs)Proficient with:480 V and below power electrical equipment:(switchgear, MCC, transformers, VFDs, etc.) and calculations: Conduit Fill, Cable Tray Fill, Voltage Drop, Transformer Sizing, Neutral Sizing, GEC sizing, Feeder/Conductor Sizing, Panelboard Sizing, Sizing Lighting Loads, Overcurrent Protection Device sizing, Motor controls, Lighting and lighting controls, Grounding, Fire alarm systems, etc.Proficient with:AutoCAD, BIM/REVITMS Word and ExcelSKM and AGi Lighting SoftwareAdobe Acrobat / Bluebeam PDF Revucreating drawings and documents from scratch or site surveys such as: wiring diagrams, electrical interconnects, panel layouts, junction box design, plot plans, loop diagrams, cable/conduit schedules, panelboard schedules, electrical installation detailsExcellent interpersonal relationship skillsGood verbal and written communication skills in EnglishExcellent mentoring skills to help train less experienced designers and engineers.
