United Health Services is seeking growth-minded, experienced RNs to join our Emergency department at UHS Binghamton General Hospital, located in Binghamton, NY.
As a valued nurse in our community hospital, you will care for a variety of medical and behavioral health patients. While having prior nursing experience in an Emergency Department is a plus, direct emergency experience is not required to join our growing team. We encouraged nurses who are open to continuing education to apply. Working in the Emergency department involves years of on-the-job learning and experience, as every patient can have completely different needs.
We highly value empathy for our patients, their families, and our teammates. Every day on this unit is dynamic and exciting, while also requiring a strong level of flexibility, compassion, and advocacy for your patients. As part of our team, you will work 12-hour shifts to ensure that you get the work-life balance you deserve and that your patients get the best focus and care.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations
Our 15-bed Emergency unit, with a 1-3 nurse-to-patient ratio allows you to give your patients the care and focus they deserve on what could be the worst day of their lives. While you will experience tough days, your teammates will always be there to provide support and guidance. Many of the nurses on your team have worked on this unit for 15 years or more. We have a well-rounded, diverse team who value each other. Nursing is a team sport, no one on our team ever feels alone. Your team will also include LPNS, Mental Health Assistants, and Peer Advocates to ensure that every patient is met with the care and focus that they need.
Your orientation period is completely customized to your needs and past experience. We take a team approach to your orientation as we want you to feel comfortable and part of our close-knit team immediately. Throughout your orientation and your career, you will be a part of peer and team evaluations, learn from our “super” charge nurses, and have daily team huddles.
Our Emergency team’s core values are teamwork and trust, and we live these values every day. If your values match ours, and you are reliable, have a strong attention to detail, are committed to your patients, are a critical thinker, and strong communicator, you will be a perfect fit! We invite you to apply to join our UHS BGH Emergency team!
