Employer Relations Coordinator

Reporting to the Career Development Center director, the employer relations coordinator manages all aspects of on-campus recruiting and is the primary liaison to all employers, recruiters, and industry partners. The position requires high external visibility with private, public, and non-profit employers. The coordinator will strategically cultivate and strengthen communication with and between employers, students, alumni, and faculty to maximize student employment outcomes and university resources. The employer relations coordinator will oversee employer recruiting, including information sessions, interviews, networking opportunities, and marketing strategies directed to students and alumni.

Salary: $45,000-$48,000; 35-hours per week

Essential Functions:

Represent the University at recruitment events held on- and off-campus to educate employers on the university's academic programsEstablish and cultivate relationships with targeted employers and organizations through various mediums, including but not limited to site visits, lunches, association meetings, conferences, and networking opportunitiesEngage employers and recruiters to attend career fairs and other on-campus recruitment opportunitiesMaintain relationships to create greater visibility of the University, its students, and alums within relevant professional communities while documenting all interactions in the Center employer relationship management systemOversee employer approvals in the on-campus online recruiting system and serve as point person for communication and outreach to employers and recruitersManage and maintain all aspects of the Employer Advisory BoardAid and support collaborative initiatives in the Center and across campusUpdate, distribute, collect, and analyze undergraduate and graduate students' graduate outcomes survey data; write two comprehensive and interpretive reports annually to distribute survey findings and industry analysisDevelop ongoing strategies to bring greater visibility of the college to relevant employers and industriesIn coordination with the Center staff, oversee all aspects of two all-industry, on-campus career fairs annuallyUnder the supervision of the Center director, manage all communications to students, alums, and employers regarding recruitment activities, including recruiting-related website documentationCompose and strategize the content and timing of a large volume of communications to students via Handshake and other mediums, and present job-search strategies workshops to students participating in on- and off-campus recruiting activitiesOther Duties & Responsibilities:Research and compile job, internship, fellowship, co-op, and residency opportunities for various industriesCommunicate with University leadership and faculty to assess recruitment opportunities for studentsSupport and assist in creating intersections for faculty, staff, and students that will assist in transforming people’s livesSupport and assist in creating an evolving mentoring culture and rich engagement opportunities for faculty, staff, and studentsMaintain a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and a high degree of cultural competence and respect for a wide range of identities and experiences, therefore welcoming and supporting all faculty, staff, and students and expanding access to the AU experienceMaintain a safe working environment within and around their facilities and associated equipment and supplies, including, but not limited to, obtaining Safety Data Sheet (SDS) information pertaining to any hazards associated with their work environmentParticipate in all required assigned training, including safety training, and will comply with safety rules, regulations, and protocolsEffective written and oral communication skillsContribute to the University's overall success by performing other duties as assignedQualifications-Education & Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Formal Education:​​​​​​​Bachelor's degree in education, human services, business, liberal arts, or business is required​​​​​​​Experience:​​​​​​​Minimum of two years of experience in college recruiting, human resources, employer relations, management, and supervision of staff, marketing, or related fields preferredAdditional Knowledge/Skills:​​​​​​​Candidates must demonstrate an ability to work with a diverse student population and serve as an advocate for that diversityProven professionalism and ability to interact effectively with individuals, from interns to CEOsDemonstrated computer expertise such as database administration, career-related internet sites, and proficiency in Microsoft OfficeExcellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skillsAn outgoing customer service-oriented style, effective in building relationships through in-person, phone, and online networking requiredCommitment to confidentiality is required in all matters, especially with student meetings, handling resumes, and employment situationsWillingness to develop as a professional in an office must be responsive to changing job markets and career/student development trendsAbility to work independently and as part of a team, exhibiting strong time management skills, strategic thinking, sound judgment, and a sense of humorPhysical Demands & Work Environment:

Personal Protective Equipment must be worn when required.  A respiratory function test and the ability to use respirators may be required.  Stairs and uneven surfaces may be present; artificial lifts, etc., may or may not be available.  The position may require the incumbent to walk outdoors in all types of weather to other buildings or offices located on the campus.  The Campus is in an area that contains numerous hills and slopes and may not always be fully accessible for mobility-impaired individuals.
