Job Description

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists in preparing patient for designated procedure as requested by physicianAssists physician during endoscopy procedureAccurately completes lab paperwork and handles patient specimens, per policyWorks collaboratively with the healthcare team to prepare the endoscopy suite according to requirements of patient, physician, and procedure, but not limited to assembling and providing properly functioning equipment, supplies and instrumentsFollows manufacturer’s instructions for use for all steps of cleaning, high level disinfection or sterilization for instruments and/or equipmentFollowing manufacturer’s instructions and center’s policy and procedure, appropriately cleans endoscopy suite between cases and daily terminal cleaningUses universal precautionsResponds to other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school graduate1-3 years similar experience in an endoscopy settingBLS / ACLS Certified, as applicableAbility to make sound, reasonable decisionsDemonstrates accountability, professionalism, openness, receptiveness to changeAbility to identify and calmly handle inherently stressful situations with tactHighly organized with ability to concentrate on many detailed requestsExcellent communication skillsAbility to develop excellent working relationships with physicians and center staffMaintains regular attendance
