Under the direct supervision of the Director of endoscopy is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of Endoscopy Technicians within the Endoscopy Unit. Performs ongoing staff education motivation and retention. Performs support activities in assigned areas for consistency and smooth transition of the daily work flow. Demonstrates advanced technical skills and ownership for work area. Assist with emergent transportation needs and independently maintains quality control documentation records for equipment and/or reprocessing. Maintain and order all special order items and maintain adequate par levels according to special request and needs. Participates in hospital improvement activitiesHas competent working knowledge in specialty area as identified.Supports direct care providers in the Prep Procedure and Recovery Room environment.Maintains necessary skills and competencies.Supports Endoscopy Care Environment.Interfaces effectively with peers and customers and assumes responsibility for professional development of self and others per department policy.Serves as the resource for information for employees and customers.Participates in various teaching and/or learning opportunities and facilitates thetraining of new employees.Assists the Director of Endoscopy with performing various administrativefunctions including employee and customer relations and ensuring regulatory compliance and quality review in order to ensure the goals of the department are met.Models team behaviors to frontline employees.

Position Compensation Range: $16.97 - $26.30 HourlyMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
Experience: 2 years’ experience as a Surgical Tech or Endoscopy Tech required. Prior Supervisory experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Licensure: Must have nursing assistant certification or possess a valid EMT at time of hire. 2 years of endoscopy experience may be accepted in lieu of nursing assistant or EMT licensure requirement. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. Must successfully complete the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses Association (SGNA) Associates Program which will grant recognition as a GTS (GI Technical Specialist) within 60 days of start date.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling; Repetitive motion: decontamination of instrumentation, lifting instrument sets. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, cold, heat, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
