Navistar's Brake Engineering team has an exciting opportunity for an Engineer, Chassis Brake Design role. This design engineer position is in the Brake Engineering department within the Chassis Engineering group.

 

Brakes Engineering within Chassis Engineering is accountable for all design development and ownership across all vehicle platforms of brakes systems including Foundation brakes, Brake controls and actuation, Air brake charging and pneumatics, Hydraulic brakes, and Wheel ends.

Responsibilities Accomplishes work through independent contributions, typically receiving general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments, and an adequate level of guidance and directionExercises judgement within defined, standard practices/procedures to determine appropriate actionRequires moderate subject area knowledge and decision-making skillsFollows the processes, problem solving and implementing solutions to the most engineering issuesRefers problems that cannot be resolved to the next levelBuilds productive internal and external working relationshipsMay provide direction and guidance to less experienced team membersServes as a central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality, and marketing as the product/system move from concept to production and distribution Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and will obtain degree prior to first day of employment Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
