This position is responsible for providing advanced technical support in the development and design of road and highway projects.

Responsibilities Assist a Project Manager in the development and design of road and highway projects to include plans, specifications, and estimatesConsult with Project Manager in the review of detailed plans, specifications, and estimate of cost to ensure conformity with the project scope and design standardsDevelop feasible design alternatives and compare significant parameters such as typical sections, horizontal and vertical alignments, right-of-way requirements and costIdentify and analyze the principle design features and major design alternatives that satisfy a project’s purpose and needReview design details, and coordinate technical recommendations, assess the cost-effective conductibility of the project and generally evaluate the projectProduce detailed, final design plans, specifications and estimates in accordance with AASHTO, FHWA, TXDOT Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in civil or agricultural engineering from an ABET accredited college or university4 years' multi-discipline experience in roadway design and PS&EFamiliar with engineering principles, techniques, and proceduresWorking knowledge of MicrostationEffective communications skills; both oral and writtenAbility to interact professionally with clients and all level of employees within an organizationMust be able to work Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with occasional overtime as neededAbility to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently
