Environmental, Health, and Safety Intern

Emerson, a global technology and engineering leader, is seeking an Undergraduate EHS Intern to join our Environmental, Health, and Safety team in Reno. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the enhancement of Emerson's safety culture and sustainability efforts. You will work closely with a dedicated team and play a vital role in various EHS projects that will benefit both the company and the local community.
 

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Conducting cost-benefit analyses by comparing current vendors for safety equipment (shoes, glasses, PPE) to identify potential cost savings. Contributing to initiatives aimed at reducing energy consumption and promoting greener energy sources within the site. Enhancing Safety Week activities by providing support and assistance in planning and execution. Participating in general 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) projects throughout the plant for improved workplace organization and efficiency. Leading and conducting time studies for the manufacturing processes with a focus on increasing shop efficiency.  Gather feedback from colleagues and internal partners to drive continuous improvement in EHS processes. Document EHS procedures, standard methodologies, and project outcomes for knowledge sharing within the team. Prepare and present reports on EHS activities, safety improvements, and sustainability initiatives to EHS management and other team members.

  For This Role, You Will Need: Successfully completed Sophomore year of University, or above  Excellent computer skills and a technical proficiency that includes strong data gathering skills, expertise, interpretation, and reporting Commitment to a full time (40 hours a week) Summer internship experience in Reno, NV.
  Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: An interest in both EHS compliance and manufacturing engineering  Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and written.   Our Offer To You:
