Position Summary The Technician is responsible for a clean safe environment by performing routine housekeeping duties. The operation of specified small equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, buffers, and others, are required. Minimum Qualifications Education Must be at least 17 years old and currently enrolled in high school or an equivalent educational program. Credentials State Required: None GPH Required: None Physical Demands Stand Constantly throughout the day. Constantly walk throughout the day. Occasionally sit prolonged each day. Bend, stoop and crouch constantly throughout the day. Climb occasionally eight steps on stationary ladder. Push/pull 10# resistance frequently. Lift from floor to 35 inches off floor up to 20 lbs. frequently; Lift from 7 inches to 44 inches off floor up to 50 lbs occasionally. Throw from 12 inches off floor to 44 inches off the floor up to 40 lbs occasionally and 20 lbs frequently. Carry up to 30 lbs. 100 feet occasionally. Visual acuity, color vision, manual dexterity and eye hand coordination. Grip and pinch up to 5 lbs of pressure occasionally to operate equipment. Grip equipment with vibration occasionally. Reach overhead frequently and lift up to 10 lbs overhead occasionally. Work in special sterile areas such as Surgery or work in isolation rooms. Essential Functions Responsible for cleaning all areas of the hospital and clinics associated with the facility. The areas include: patient rooms, exam rooms, treatment rooms, offices, public areas, restrooms, surgery suites and labor and delivery rooms. Daily responsibilities include: vacuuming, sweeping, dust mopping, wet mopping, damp wiping, removing trash, high/low dusting, pushing carts, stripping and making beds, and responding to pager requests in a timely manner.
