In partnership with the Chair of Pathology, the Executive Director is responsible for the direction and effective operation of the Department of Pathology which includes:  the Divisions of Clinical Pathology, Anatomic Pathology, Hematopathology, Molecular & Therapy Biomarkers, Transfusion Medicine, and Pathology Informatics & Data Science.  This position is responsible for the planning, controlling and monitoring operational performance of all clinical laboratories at the City of Hope National Medical Center with dotted line oversight to the Lennar Cancer Center clinical laboratories and moderately complex clinical labs in the Clinical Network. 

As a successful candidate, you will: 

Manage and lead all programs and resources within all laboratoriesEnsure compliance with departmental and administrative policies and proceduresEnsure compliance with Joint Commission, CLIA, CAP, AABB, FACT, state and federal regulatory agenciesDevelop/monitor quality control and continuous quality improvement programsParticipate in interdepartmental quality managementEnsure that specimen collection, result reporting and turnaround times are optimalDevelop and implement system strategies and initiatives

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include: 

Bachelor’s Degree in Science10 yrs. experience with evidence of progressive responsibility for administration of a clinical lab with demonstrated abilities in above essential functions.  Experience in an academic medical center and/or cancer center
