Executive Producer

TelevisaUnivision Fresno is looking for an Executive Producer for our News Team with a proven track record in broadcast and digital content creation. Will work on a variety of multi-platform projects for the news operation including both short and long form, live and taped shows and stories. The Executive Producer must have experience in working in a fast-paced newsroom and know how to react to breaking news, weather, and large event coverage. The position provides editorial direction, leadership, motivation, support and encouragement to staff. As Executive Producer you will strive for the team to produce original and exclusive content that drives the conversation and demonstrate a passionate fearless leader approach willing to mentor and develop our talented group of journalists into strong storytellers. The Executive Producers are responsible for the overall quality control of productions. They are part of the team who are responsible to fulfill our promise of value and to protect the brand. 

YOUR DAY-DAY:
• Work with Univision Fresno leadership team on the overall editorial vision.
• You manage all assignments and pitch approvals for a growing team of Producers and Multimedia Journalist and Digital Content Creators.
• Direct the daily editorial decision making and show production to deliver an informative, insightful, and well-rounded program.
• Work closely with Univision Fresno digital multimarket team to ensure the platforms are updated with breaking news.
• Provide suggestions for expanded storytelling and/or bonus content that best serves audiences on all distribution platforms of Univision Fresno.
• Provide leadership to all content creators by collaborating with them to create visually compelling, engaging content that resonates on all platforms.
• Accountable for building capability within the newsrooms to think and act digitally, generating engaging, compelling and timely content
• Always maintain the highest standards of TelevisaUnivision journalism, immediately bringing any reporting concerns to the News Director.

YOU HAVE:
• Bachelor’s Degree in journalism or a related field or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of news management experience in a medium/large market.
• Experience producing newscasts in a medium/large market
• Must be willing to work varied schedules, including weekends, holidays overnights & unpredictable hours based on coverage needs
• Proficiency in managing and posting on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and other Social Media Platforms.
• Ability to integrate digital platforms throughout all newscasts, using each platform to strengthen the others
• Experience covering politics and government
• Strong news judgement, and quick decision maker and creative thinker
• Effective coach and mentor to staff of all experience levels
• Ability to interact with multiple levels of management
• Proven and effective leadership skills; fosters open dialogue, empowers others, addresses conflict quickly and directly.
• Able to make budgetary decisions
• Manage different levels of employees
• Desire to tackle special projects as requested by the News Director
• Fluent in Spanish and English
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, newsroom systems INEWS, edit bays, cameras, audio board and 
decks.

Salary Range
$75,000-$80,000 + benefits
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Please note the national salary range listed in the job posting reflects the new hire salary range across levels and U.S. locations that would be applicable to the position.
