Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Experienced Software Product Owner to work in either Chantilly, VA, Fairfax, VA, Mountain View, CA, or Aurora, CO locations.  We’re seeking a highly talented, motivated, and creative software product owner to lead and support existing capabilities of an agile software program for the national intelligence community.

Program seeks a highly talented, motivated, product owner who leads the agile software development lifecycle rhythm, processes, and stakeholder objectives.  Collects, organizes, synthesizes, and analyses data; summarizes findings; develops conclusions and recommendations from appropriate stakeholders. 

Provides reports, project status and change information to project team per established processes and communicates plan changes and recovery plans to others. Uses negotiating skills by engaging with specific organizational and project task owners to improve project performance commitments. Responsible for the development and update of task specific, plans, deliverables and schedules. 


Communicates regularly with Program Management, technical leadership, and product teams.  Communicates as required directly with customer to understand need and resolve cross-functional technical issues.

Additionally this position requires support to engineering as required for technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, estimation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Complete ability to accept, direct, and perform responsibilities and work assigned tasks as a project team member in support of the overall project.

This position is contingent upon clearance verification and program/customer concurrence. Offer is contingent upon security approval for program access.

Primary Responsibilities:

Analyzing high level customer requirements and deriving lower level functional requirements. 

Ability to lead and direct the activities and resources of assigned projects and support management and engineering in large scale and complex projects.

Leading/planning software development tasks including detailed software design, coding, and unit/integration/functional/system testing of customer desired features/user stories, ensuring successful achievement of acceptance criteria.

Customer/stakeholder presentation and reporting skills.  Briefing software designs and demonstrating software release functionality to customer/stakeholders/end users.

Agile software development lifecycle knowledge

Knowledge of project planning processes and tools (i.e., project management software) to define, design, and plan projects, achieve project deliverables, optimize the contributions of internal and external resources, and accomplish desired business results.

Effective use of Atlassian Products (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Crucible, etc.)

Occasional business travel and after hours support may be required.

Basic Qualifications:

**Top Secret/SCI U.S. Security Clearance.

***MUST BE WILLING TO SIT FOR A CI POLYGRAPH AFTER START DATE***

This position requires an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance. (US Citizenship is required) (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

Must possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace or related technical

Strong leadership experience with focus in project management and scheduling (2+ years experience)

Agile software development lifecycle knowledge

Desired Qualifications:

Solid background in Java and foundational knowledge of object-oriented design and software patterns. (3+ years of experience)

Experience using cloud based infrastructure (AWS)

Knowledge of Git or other DVCS; experience using automation server (Jenkins)

Experience/knowledge of the GEOINT domain

Education:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation is available for internal candidates.
